Brewing Hardware Hi guys I am setting up my electric brewery and I have run into a little problem. I am not sure how to insulate the ends of my hot water heater elements at the HLT and Kettle. I was going to use a pvc coupler and slide it over it and then fill it in with silicon, I had seen this in an older brewing techniques magazine. But I found out that this may be a fire hazard. So if anyone (DREW) who has any experience with this problem please let me know how you solved it.

Thanks

Dave

My kettle just has electrical boxes welded to the outside of it, though that's probably not the safest way to go. I've seen Drew's and he has basically what you describe only some kind of heat-resistant epoxy in there filling up the space. He also has twist-connectors so he can take his cables off completely for storage - very nice.
