Hey everyone. This is my second effort at posting a note. The last one seemed to get lost in n-space.
Firstly, I think this web-club is great. Few people have time to meet regularly nor to brew regularly, so regular meetings dont really cut it.
Anyhoo - I am looking to find some sources of various varieties of hop vines. Anyone know any source of plants?? I recently read that given their connection to growing other (smokable) varieties of the hemp family that their access is limited. Zat true?
As this is my first post to this website I am pleased to say I am writing it while enjoying the wonderful fruits of my first all-grain efforts. Baby - its good. I followed the recipe of John J Palmer's Titibawasee Brown Ale. I did happen to miscalculate water requirements and find myself sucking back a 7.5% porter instead of the expected 5.5%. Oh well... good bye liver, you were fun while you lasted.
Looking forward to participating in the next bulk buy. I will soon be in need of base malt (my second double batch is ready for racking already and I find myself left with a paltry 15lbs of pale ale malt - not enough for third double batch!).
