Liquid Yeast strains

Ask the MoB I am looking into getting some liquid yeast for my next couple of batches. Up until now, I've been relying on dried generic yeast (Coopers, and Muntons mostly).
I am wondering what people are using for liquid yeast cultures?
And for what type of brews?
Any questionable results from certain strains?
Is there a really good all purpose strain for lagers that you'd swear by?
How about ales?

I thank you for your suggestions and advice in advance.
