Jesse here.
I've been brewing concentrate kits for 18 years now, and have tried my hand at a few all-grain and partial mashes with great success.
I also work at Defalco's and have probably dealt with one or two of you in the past.
I am wondering what common brewing equipment/ingredients people would like made available in the area. I can't say Defalco's will carry everything that is suggested, but I can certainly push for the high demand items to be brought in.
Oh, and Defalco's will be carrying Wyeast again in the coming months.
I write this as a community service only and not an advertisment for my employer.
Thank you, and happy brewing.

Just a short note to introduce myself. I have recently returned to home brewing after a lomng time away. I used to do extract brew kits with hop addtions but have now gone to all grain. It still not good enough to serve to guests but it is getting better.
Any homebrewers out near Erin, Ontario???

Hello,
I've just joined the club. My wife Kate and I have been all grain brewing for the last 8 years. We started when we lived in Oregon. Now we live in the beautiful Mascarene highlands of New Brunswick.

Hi,
I just want to introduce myself. I'm a brewer who has just moved here from Saskatchewan. I started off homebrewing and then received my MSc BRewing and Distilling in Scotland. I'm currently brewing at clocktower brewpub on bank street. I am looking to getting involved in the local homebrew groups.
Cheers
Patrick

Hi:
I've just returned to brewing after a five year drought. Currently setting up a draft system. I am a kit/extract w/ grains brewer as I have not taken the leap yet.
Really enjoy the site and the emails.
I live in St. John's, Newfoundland
Cheers
Tom

Hey there,
I have been brewing, (extract brews) since October 04. My brews are all original as I make up the recipies on the fly, and I tend to keg the brews as having good beer on tap can't be beat!
I would like to get involved in the local brewing community and perhaps host some events over time. Looking forward to meeting some of you!
Cheers,
joe

Good morning,
My name is Pierre-Luc Pilon, i'm from Gatineau and have a dream : own my brewery/brewpub.
Not that i'm an alcoholic, but i'm attracted by the idea of creating from grain, water, yeast and passion a golden nectar that can make every surly guy funny and every mild women extremely... not mild anymore!

Hi All,
Started Homebrewing shortly after moving to the Ottawa area, some 16 years ago. Kit was a valentine present from my girlfriend at the time.
Hmmmm....ok, so she wasn't so bad...
Can't remember when it was that I made the transition to all-grain, but it was basically a gradual evolution. Started adding hops and specialty grains to kits, then partial mashes, etc. I went through a bit of a lull where I only brewed sporatically for a few years, but I'm back at it with a vengeance. During that time, all the homebrew suppliers seem to have vanished, or drastically reduced their selection. A friend recommended the MOB as a good source for some of the harder to get ingredients, so here I am.

I have brewed my first batch of beer. It actually looks and tastes like beer, so IMHO that's a good start. Aroma: good Appearance: bit cloudier than commercial, but I was led to expect that Taste: little more on the sweet side than I'd hoped for, but not bad Mouthfeel: bit on the thin side, but it's not a stout Aftertaste: ok, maybe a wee bit fruity Other than that, I'm a few hours drive west of Ottawa, so I'll be here more virtually than physically.

I moved to Ottawa permamently about two months ago. Originally from BC but I have been living in Portland OR for the last long six years, although the beer made it alot easier. I have some brewing experience including all grain but my equipment (not that it was much) was left behind awhile ago. I was hoping to set up a little home-brewery in the apartment in Ottawa but it's a bit small and my dear wife is a little reluctunt to let this happen.
Cheers
Aaron
